Window Treatment Design Tips
When designing your window treatment, keep the following tips in
mind:
- Self or contrast lining is always a good choice when you have a
style that shows the backside of the drape to the room.
- Banding on the edges will enhance the vertical nature of your
window treatment and make your windows look taller.
- Sheers are fashionable. Embellish them to add accent and
visual depth to your treatment.
- Contrast your fabrics. It will make your window treatment
more interesting.
- Double up on trims and ruffles to create a custom look.
- Break it on the floor when you increase your slouch at the top
so your hem doesn't look uneven.
- Bring the outdoor in by using sheer treatment.
- Puddling adds a bit of glamour. At anywhere from 8 inches
to 20 inches to the finished length to create this effect on the
floor.
- Interlining adds fullness and weight. It is a good idea
for larger windows.
- For a more modern look, use stationary panel as the over drapes
and let your sheers do all the work behind the scenes.
- A solid band at the bottom of your treatment will add a visual
foundation.
